Windows 11 Is Slowly Replacing the Classic Control Panel

Good news for Windows 11 users — Microsoft is steadily moving more features from the traditional Control Panel into the modern Settings app. As a result, users now have fewer reasons to access the outdated interface that’s been pushed deeper into the system with each update.

⏰ Clock-Related Features Get a Modern Makeover

In the latest changes, Microsoft has begun migrating clock-related settings into the Settings app. These include:

  • Adding up to two additional clocks for different time zones
  • Giving those clocks custom names
  • Adjusting AM/PM indicators

These options were previously found in the classic Control Panel, but are now being redesigned with a modern user interface.

🎨 A More User-Friendly Experience

Thanks to the redesign, these clock settings now support:

  • Light and dark themes
  • Larger UI elements for better visibility
  • Improved accessibility features

This makes the experience more consistent with the overall look and feel of Windows 11 and easier to use for a wider range of users.

You can find these settings under:
Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region > Regional Format

⌨️ Keyboard Settings Also Moving to Settings App

Clock-related features aren’t the only ones getting a new home. Microsoft has also started relocating certain keyboard settings to the Settings app. While no official announcement has been made about this change yet, it seems to be part of a broader strategy to phase out the old Control Panel entirely.

🚀 What’s New in the Latest Canary Build?
