NVIDIA RTX 5060 Launches May 19 for Desktops and Laptops – Starting at $299

NVIDIA has officially confirmed the RTX 5060 will launch on May 19 , bringing Ada Lovelace architecture to both desktops and laptops . The desktop version will be available starting at $299 , with the entry-level laptop variant beginning at $1,099 . This makes the RTX 5060 the most affordable GPU in NVIDIA’s current 50-series lineup.

Retailers will begin offering the card at 9 a.m. PT , just ahead of Computex 2025 and shortly after AMD’s rumored release of the RX 9060 XT . Notably, the RTX 5060 keeps the same $299 launch price as its predecessor, the RTX 4060, while undercutting the more expensive RTX 5060 Ti 8GB by $70 and the 16GB model by $130.

However, it still sits $50 above the Intel Arc B580 , which offers 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Whether or not the RTX 5060 will be widely available at MSRP remains uncertain — much like previous 50-series cards, supply may be limited at launch.

Performance Expectations

NVIDIA claims the RTX 5060 delivers up to twice the performance of the RTX 4060 in games utilizing DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation . However, these gains are expected to be most noticeable in newer titles that support the latest AI-driven upscaling tech. In older or DLSS 4-incompatible games, performance improvements may be more modest.

Gamers considering an upgrade should wait for in-depth reviews before making a purchase. Recent issues — such as the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB’s performance drop when used over PCIe 4.0 in certain games — highlight the importance of real-world testing before committing to a new GPU.
