Nvidia rolls out new driver for the upcoming RTX 5060
Nvidia has officially released the Game Ready Driver for the GeForce RTX 5060 , launching alongside the GPU on May 19. This marks the end of a controversial rollout, as the card hit the market without prior reviews — a move that left many outlets unable to test its performance ahead of launch.
Now available for purchase both as a desktop and laptop GPU, the RTX 5060 can be found through major retailers worldwide. While consumers can simply download the driver on release day, reviewers faced delays due to late access to both hardware and software, leaving limited data on how the card truly performs against competing GPUs.
The situation around the RTX 5060 grew even more unusual over the weekend, as Nvidia shared limited, tightly controlled previews with select outlets — only under strict testing conditions set by the company.
Priced from $299 , the new desktop GPU is available through major brands like ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC .
Beyond 5060 support, the latest driver also introduces features for upcoming titles such as Dune: Awakening and F1 2025 , both launching with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation . The update also brings DLSS 4 to Portal .
With the driver now public, independent testing of the RTX 5060 can finally take place. Early controlled results hint at performance gains of up to 25% over the RTX 4060 in certain scenarios.
With today’s launch, Nvidia confirms that over 125 games now support DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation , expanding the AI-driven performance benefits to a growing library of titles.
