Nintendo Confirms No Price Hike for Switch 2 in the US, but Accessories Face Increases
Nintendo officially unveiled its next console earlier in April, announcing a pre-order date of April 9 for fans to reserve their Nintendo Switch 2. However, this date was quickly postponed for customers in the US as the company evaluated the “potential impact of tariffs” recently imposed by the Trump Administration on many of its trade partners.
After the delay, Nintendo has now set a new pre-order date for the highly anticipated hybrid console. In an official statement, the company announced that pre-orders will open in the US on April 24, just over a month before the June 5 release date.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay and hope this helps alleviate some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” the company said. “We thank our customers for their patience and share their excitement to experience the Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025.”
