Intel Xeon 6 Joins the AI Race: Selected for NVIDIA’s DGX B300
Intel has introduced three new CPUs to its Xeon 6 series , specifically designed to manage GPU-driven AI systems. These processors are built around Performance cores (P-cores) and feature advanced technologies like Intel Priority Core Turbo (PCT) and Intel Speed Select Technology – Turbo Frequency (SST-TF) . These innovations allow users to adjust core frequencies for optimized GPU performance across intensive AI workloads.
The new Xeon 6 processors are available starting today. Among them, the Intel Xeon 6776P is the chosen CPU for the NVIDIA DGX B300 , where it helps manage and support the system’s powerful AI capabilities. Intel highlights that the chip offers strong memory capacity and bandwidth, making it well-suited for the growing demands of modern AI models and datasets.
These new Xeon models showcase the superior performance of Intel Xeon 6, positioning it as the ideal CPU for next-generation GPU-accelerated AI systems, ” said Karin Eibschitz Segal , Corporate Vice President and Interim General Manager of Intel’s Data Center Group. “We’re excited to expand our partnership with NVIDIA to deliver one of the most powerful AI platforms in the industry, helping drive AI innovation across sectors
Intel highlighted that its Xeon 6 processors, built with P-cores, are optimized for AI workloads through a range of performance features. The chips offer high core counts and strong single-threaded performance, ensuring efficient distribution of demanding AI tasks. The company also claims up to 30% faster memory speeds compared to competitors, improving overall system responsiveness.
In addition, the new Xeon 6 lineup includes 20% more PCIe lanes than previous generations, enabling faster data transfer rates for I/O-heavy applications. Intel emphasized that these processors are built for reliability, featuring advanced RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) technologies designed to maximize system uptime.
