Honor has officially brought its flagship foldable smartphone, the Magic V5, to key European markets — including the UK, France, Germany, and Italy — following a launch event in London. The device was previously available in China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, but this rollout marks a major step in Honor’s global expansion strategy.

Unveiled alongside the MagicPad3 and other new devices, the Magic V5 is positioned as a premium productivity powerhouse, blending exceptional battery life, refined design, and cutting-edge AI tools — all in a sleek, ultra-thin foldable form.

Available in Ivory White, Dawn Gold, and Black across Europe, the Magic V5 also features a Silk Brown/Reddish Brown variant exclusive to Asian markets.

The Largest Battery in a Foldable — And It Shows

One of the standout features of the Magic V5 is its 5,820mAh silicon-carbon battery — currently the largest in any foldable smartphone. This advanced battery tech is denser and more efficient than traditional lithium-ion, allowing for longer endurance without adding bulk.

According to Honor’s internal testing, the Magic V5 delivers up to 14 hours and 37 minutes of continuous YouTube playback on the inner display — a full 3 hours and 40 minutes longer than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 under the same lab conditions.

Keep in mind: these figures are based on controlled scenarios (like fixed brightness and network settings), so real-world usage may vary. Still, the gap suggests a meaningful improvement in daily usability — especially for travelers, remote workers, or anyone tired of carrying a power bank.

The phone supports 66W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging, enabling fast top-ups when needed. A full charge takes about 45 minutes, and reverse wireless charging is also supported.

Brilliant Displays, Inside and Out

The Magic V5 features two high-performance screens:

• Inner display: 7.95 inches, perfect for multitasking, media, and stylus input.
• Outer display: 6.43 inches, with a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits — significantly brighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 2,600 nits — making it highly visible even in direct sunlight.

Both panels are smooth, responsive, and optimized for everyday use, whether you’re browsing, video calling, or drawing.

Smart AI Features for Security and Productivity

Honor is leaning heavily into AI with the Magic V5, introducing several intelligent tools:

• Gemini Live: Enables real-time video interaction with screen sharing, allowing users to get instant help from experts or family members during calls.
• AI Deepfake Detection: Analyzes facial patterns during video calls and alerts users if there’s a risk of deepfake impersonation. Crucially, all processing happens on-device, so your data never leaves the phone — a big win for privacy.
• Multi-Flex Mode: Lets you run three apps simultaneously on the large inner screen, with flexible window resizing for true multitasking.

The phone also supports the Magic-Pen stylus on both inner and outer displays, making it ideal for note-taking, sketching, or precise navigation — a rare feature in the foldable space.

Photography is another highlight. The Magic V5 comes with a triple rear camera setup:

Despite its large battery and premium specs, the Magic V5 remains impressively thin at just 8.8mm when folded, and it weighs 217g (for the Ivory White model; slight variations occur by color).

It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance — meaning it can withstand splashes, spills, and even brief exposure to dust, though it’s not fully submersible. This level of durability is still rare in foldables, making the Magic V5 a practical choice for daily use.
