Google has announced the launch of a standalone app called NotebookLM, a powerful AI research assistant that is gaining popularity. According to Android Authority, the app will be available on Android and iOS starting May 20, coinciding with the Google I/O conference. Users can pre-register now in the Google Play Store and App Store.
NotebookLM is an AI tool that helps analyze and summarize information from various sources, such as PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, and text files. Users can create “notes,” upload materials, and ask questions, receiving accurate answers with source citations. A unique feature is Audio Overviews, which turns content into a podcast with two AI voices discussing the material. The app supports background playback and offline mode, making it convenient for studying or working on the go.
Previously, NotebookLM was only available through a web interface, which was limiting. The new app will simplify access, allowing you to create notebooks, upload files, and listen to audio reviews directly from your smartphone. Google is targeting students, researchers, and anyone who works with large amounts of information by offering an intuitive interface and powerful features.
