Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Camera Ring Isn’t Coming to the Galaxy Z Fold7
When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra earlier this year, it was praised for its premium specs and high-end features. But not everything about the flagship was well received.
One of the biggest surprises — and disappointments — was the removal of Bluetooth support from the S Pen. This meant users could no longer use the stylus to remotely capture photos or videos, a feature many found useful.
However, an even more surprising issue emerged shortly after launch: the camera rings on the Galaxy S25 Ultra were reportedly falling off — and without any damage to the phone itself. The design choice raised eyebrows across the tech world, especially considering the device’s $1,300 price tag.
The thick circular rings covering the rear cameras were simply glued in place, and in some cases, came loose with minimal contact. It wasn’t long before the story went viral, sparking criticism over Samsung’s design decisions.
❌ Galaxy Z Fold7 Won’t Follow the S25 Ultra’s Camera Ring Design
Despite initial plans to carry over the same circular camera look to its next foldable flagship, Samsung seems to have changed course.
According to well-known tipster IceUniverse, Samsung had originally intended to equip the Galaxy Z Fold7 with similar camera rings as seen on the S25 Ultra. However, due to strong public reaction and widespread criticism, the company reportedly decided to abandon the idea altogether.
In fact, the source claims that the “Saturn ring” design was removed urgently during development, and instead, Samsung has gone back to a cleaner, more refined aesthetic — one reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Fold5.
Recent leaked images appear to confirm this shift. They show the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 featuring a minimalist camera module without the bulky rings, available in three color options: blue, silver, and black.
Compared to last year’s model, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is also expected to be thinner and lighter, which aligns with Samsung’s ongoing efforts to make foldables more practical and user-friendly.
📅 What’s Next?
With the official launch just around the corner, excitement continues to build. Samsung has already opened the pre-reservation window for the Galaxy Z Fold7, offering early buyers up to $50 in credit and additional savings of up to $1,150 when trading in an eligible device.
Whether this change in design will be enough to win over critics remains to be seen — but for now, it looks like Samsung is listening to feedback.
