Critical Hotpatch KB5061258 Released to Improve Stability and Security on Windows 11 LTSC 2024
Microsoft has rolled out a new out-of-band hotpatch update , KB5061258 (Build 26100.3983) , for Windows 11 LTSC 2024 . This marks the first hotpatch-style update for the Windows 11 24H2 branch and comes shortly after this week’s Patch Tuesday updates, KB5058411 and KB5058405 .
Unlike regular monthly (B-release) or optional preview (C-release) updates, out-of-band updates are released independently to address urgent needs outside the standard schedule.
According to Microsoft, the update includes “miscellaneous security improvements” aimed at enhancing internal OS functionality. The company did not list any specific issues being addressed, stating that no additional fixes are documented for this release.
The update is being delivered automatically through Windows Update and Microsoft Update , requiring no manual action from users. More details can be found in the official support page for KB5061258 on Microsoft’s website.
