Black Ops 7 Is Coming – Prepare for the Most Challenging Co-Op Campaign Yet
During today’s Xbox Game Showcase, Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software delivered an exciting surprise to fans: the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 , the next installment in the iconic first-person shooter series. While many had anticipated a return to the Modern Warfare universe for 2025, this announcement breaks tradition by marking the first time two Black Ops titles will launch one after another.
Set 40 years after the events of Black Ops 6 , Black Ops 7 transports players into the year 2035 — a world shaped by advanced technology and unseen threats. According to the developers, players will join David Mason and his elite team as they confront a dangerous enemy that uses fear itself as a weapon.
Matt Cox, General Manager of the Call of Duty franchise, shared his thoughts on the creative direction:
“The Black Ops universe offers incredible storytelling depth, rich character development, and intense gameplay moments across every mode. Our goal was always to craft a unique, back-to-back experience that highlights what makes the Black Ops sub-series so special.”
One of the game’s standout features is its fully co-op playable campaign, which can also be enjoyed solo. The narrative unfolds in a global landscape teetering on the edge of collapse, where psychological warfare and violent conflicts are becoming the new norm.
In addition to the campaign, Black Ops 7 will deliver a robust multiplayer mode featuring brand-new maps, weapons, and gameplay mechanics. Longtime fans will also get to dive back into the eerie world of Zombies, with a new chapter set in the mysterious Dark Aether universe.
More details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be revealed later this year ahead of its full release. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S — with day-one access available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
